Building Peace in Caucasus

Building Peace in Caucasus was a study visit helded in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia. This project brought together 17 youth leaders/workers, project managers, from 7 countries (Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Armenia, Russia and Georgia) during 8 days. The main aim was to get to know about the youth reality in Caucasus and to explore and understand the approach to Peace Education and Peace Building in youth work in Armenia, to give perspectives and knowledge to the participants, and to improve the quality of future projects of the informal network created by the partners.

Peace Bag Caucasus

Peace Bag Caucasus is an informal network that resulted as a follow up of the PBA - Youth Building Peace: Empowering the Caucasus” in Barcelona 2013.

This informal network is constituted by 24 youth organizations from Western Europe and the Caucasus and it is aiming to develop a strategic direction for uniting youth action in the Caucasus Region and strengthen peace building activities.

Ananda is a cultural NGO based in Setubal, Portugal that promotes intercultural dialogue with people from all ages, focusing on finding common grounds between east, west, north and south cultures through activities like seminars, conferences, training courses, workshops, youth exchanges, cultural events such as art exhibitions, dance and music concerts. The intent is to promote cultural awareness through formal and non-formal education using a creative and innovative approach.

Host Organization

World Independent Youth Union is a NGO was founded in 1998 in Yerevan Armenia, as a result of training course in “Leadership in conflict prevention and management” for students from Caucasus. So, main goal is development and promotion of a culture and mechanisms of dialogue and co-operation between the civil society through international activities, assistance of consolidation of the “culture of peace” in our region and in the world.
